Before any couple gets together, there is always that favorited “talking phase”. You don’t have an official relationship, but you have that amazing bond with someone you’re attracted to. This bond, feels so right in your heart, as if it was love at first sight. You try to see each other everyday. You stay on the phone for hours all night. Even when you’re too sleepy to stay on the phone with each other, you fight the night through with laughter and jokes and eventually fall asleep together. Only to wake up the next morning and notice that they never hung up on you. The talking phase feels as if you’re going to be together forever and more. Its scary how strong the love is between two people during the talking phase. But it seems that the amazing bond that comes with the drive to make the other fall deeper in love with you, is only temporary.

Because to me, it seems like things tend to die out when you’re finally committed to that special someone. Something seems to change from that shift between the “talking phase” and the actual relationship. You no longer have that feeling of fresh love. For some, the feelings tend to weaken when they are finally committed. You don’t have that drive to make that person fall deeper in love with you. All the cute little things you used to do each day and night with them, seems to become routine. Bringing roses to someone everyday seemed to become less cute when you’re actually in a relationship. Now, you only give it to them during Valentine’s Day. I mean with all honesty, its not that you love someone less, you know you’re blessed for having that special person, but we can all confess to the world. That we always miss the talking phase.

Like me, I always wish me and the girl I was with were back in that talking phase. That feeling of love was so strong in the beginning and you could talk for days without ever tiring of that person’s sweet voice. Its just not the same anymore. I know I am lucky to have been with a girl I loved but I can’t find what I need to say. It feels like when you’re in a relationship, you have to try so hard to keep it stable and working. But in the talking phase, it seems like there wasn’t a care in the world and love seemed radiate from us. 

It hurts to realize that you’re a lot happier during the talking phase than you are in the actual relationship. I don’t mean to break your heart in anyway because I know you feel the exact same way. You realize that things are different than they were at the start. And you know that if you could go back in time to when you two first started talking, you would. Things change, don’t they….
